有关use的几种表达

有关use的表达很多，常见的如下：

1. used to do sth. 过去常常做某事 

2. be used to (sth)doing sth. 习惯于做某事(to是介词 ) 

3. be used to do sth. 被用来做某事

4. be used for  被用作

5. be in use   在使用中

6. be of use  有用的(= be useful)

7. be no use   没用

8. make use of sth  利用,使用

9. be used as    …… 被用作……

10.be used by    为……所使用"

1. used todo sth.“过去常常做某事”
(现在不做了)，只用于过去时态。如：

He used to get up early.
过去他常早起。(现在已不这样了)

Her mother used to go shopping on Fridays, but now she does it on Sunday.

她母亲过去常在周五去购物，但现在她周日去了。

I used to be short, but now I am tall.

我过去很矮，但是现在很高。

He used to be afraid of dark, didn't he? / usedn't he?

他过去很怕黑，不是吗？

拓展:

1)used to do sth 的两种否定式：
used not to 或 didn’t use to   如：

我爸爸过去不抽烟。

My father used not to smoke.

= My father didn’t use to smoke.

他们过去不住在乡下。

They used not to live in the country.

= They didn’t use to live in the country.

2)其疑问式是将used 提前，或添加助动词 did.

My father used tosmoke.

Used your father to smoke?

=Did your father use to smoke?

They used to live inthe country.

Used they to live in the country?

=Did they use to live in the country?

2. be used to (doing)sth. “习惯于做某事”
可用于多种时态。be可用get, become等代替。如：

He will be used to getting up early.
他将会习惯于早起。

He has been used to getting up early.
他已经习惯于早起。

I am used to walking along the river after dinner.

我习惯于饭后沿着河边走一走。

They got used to living in the countryside.
他们已习惯于住在农村。

I've got used to being a vegetarian.
我已经习惯吃素食。

He is used to hard work.
他习惯于艰苦工作。

3. be used to dosth. “被用于做某事”
be used 是被动语态结构，如：

Knives are used to cut fruit.
刀用来切水果。

Wood is used to make paper.
木材用来造纸。

Plastic is used to make bags.
塑料被用来制造塑料袋。

Water is used to make drinks.
水被用来做饮料。

4. be used for 被用作

Knives are used for cutting.
刀用来切东西。

A pen is used for writing.
钢笔是用来写字的。

This tool is used for shaping wood. 

这个工具是用来加工木料的。

The building is used for religious purposes. 

这座建筑是用于宗教活动的。

The big house is used for storage.

这座大房子是用来存放东西的。

5. be in use. 在使用中

These old machines are still in use. 

这些陈旧的机器仍在使用。

The computer has been in use for many years.

这台计算机已经使用多年了。

The table folds up when is not in use. 

这桌子不用时可以折叠起来。

All the vehicles are in use. 

没有一辆车闲着。

6. be of use有用的(= be useful)

It is of great use for our work. 

这对我们的工作非常有用。

This medicine is of no use to me. 

此药对我无用。

This book is of great use in learning English.

这本书对学习英语很有用。

7. be no use 没用

His advice turned out to be no use at all. 

他的建议结果一点用处也没有。

Our cars, trains, ships and planes will be no use without oil. 

我们的汽车，火车，轮船和飞机没有石油就无法使用。

I have told you there would be no use for you to keep alive a blind child. 

我早就说过您养这个瞎孩子没用

8. make use of sth 利用,使用

We must make use of our spare time. 

我们必须善用我们的业余时间。

We should make use of the chance. 

利用我们应该利用机会。

I'll make use of my old bike to do some exercise.

我要利用我的旧自行车来锻炼身体。

I made use of the desk to help me to get the bottle.

我用桌子来拿到那个高处的瓶子。

We will make good use of our time.
我们将好好利用我们的时间。

9. be used as  ……被用作……

English is used as auseful tool in our country.

在我国英语被作为一个有用的工具来使用。

The computer can be used as a tool.

计算机可以被当作工具用。

10.be used by 为……所使用

English is used by travelers and business people all over the world.

英语被世界上旅游者和商人所使用。

The recorder is used in class by teachers. 

录音机被老师们上课时使用。
