能的英文单词怎么读

表达方法一：

be capable of；Allow sth./sb. to do  

例句：

There’s a species of eel that has an enormous mouth and a large stomach that is capable of expanding, and these unusual features allow this eel to eat prey larger than itself.（TPO16 Task6）

表达方法二：

give sth./sb. a chance to do 

例句：

When the peanut bugs are attacked, it suddenly opens its back wings and out pop these bright colors. And that surprises the predator and gives the peanut bug a chance to get away. (TPO8 Task4) 

表达方法三：

make it easy/possible for sth./sb. to do sth.

例句：

Then you have a butterfly called the morpho butterfly. And parts of the morpho butterfly wings are very shiny…These flashes of light make it very difficult for the bird to follow the morph. (TPO8 Task4)

从上几个例子，我们可以看出，我们汉语中习惯说“我可以”，多以人作主语，英语中却以物作主语，说什么东西让我怎样怎样。

所以我们下次要表达能够的时候，不妨换换主语，把物放在前面：sth. allows me to do , sth. gives me a chance to do , 或者sth.makes it easier for me to do sth. 

其他表达方法：

make sb do sth； sth. enables you to do sth.

例句：

1. Studying history makes us have a better understanding of the past. 

2. The system enables students to access class materials online.
