今天带你一次性搞定序数词所有用法！

定义

英语中，数词主要分为两大类，分别为基数词和序数词。

基数词是指描述事物数量的多少的数词，在句中可作主语、宾语、定语、表语、同位语。

序数词顾名思义是指表示顺序的数词，在汉语中表示为“第几”。

序数词是初中英语的常考点之一，虽然变化多端，但是也是有规律可循的。

变形规律

首先，我们来找一找这些序数词的规律~

按照变形规律，我们可以把这些数字分成以下几类：

第一类／

第1	first	1st
第2	second	2nd
第3	third	3rd
第21	twenty-first	21st
第22	twenty-second	22nd
第23	twenty-third	23rd

个位为1, 2, 3的序数词为特殊变形，分别变为 first , second 和 third。

缩写形式：在阿拉伯数字后面加上相应序数词的最后两个字母。

第二类／

第5	fifth	5th
第8	eighth	8th
第9	ninth	9th
第12	twelfth	12th

除第1, 第2, 第3以外，还有四个数字是有特殊变形的，需要另外进行记忆：

第5和第12，把 ve 变为 f，再加 -th 后缀；第8和第9分别是把单词结尾的 t 和 e 去掉。

缩写形式：直接在阿拉伯数字后面加上 -th 即可。

第三类／

第20	twentieth	20th
第30	thirtieth	30th
第40	fortieth	40th
第50	fiftieth	50th
第60	sixtieth	60th
第70	seventieth	70th
第80	eightieth	80th
第90	ninetieth	90th

十位整数(除10以外)的序数词变形为：先将相应的十位整数的基数词词尾 -ty 中的y改成 i，加上后缀 -eth。

缩写形式：直接在阿拉伯数字后面加上 -th 即可。

第四类／

除了以上提到的三类序数词之外，其他100以下的序数词变形均为：十位数不变，仅把个位上的基数词变成序数词就行了。

缩写形式：直接在阿拉伯数字后面加上 -th 即可。

多位序数词／

第100	one hundredth	100th
第121	one hundred and twenty-first	121th
第252	two hundred and fifty-second	252th
第1320	one thousand three hundred and twentieth	1320th

100以上的多位基数词则同样按照以上规律，变结尾部分为序数词形式即可。

方法口诀

以上分类，我们可以简化为一个记忆口诀：

口诀	说明	举例
基变序，有规律后面th加上去	基本规律：在数词后面加th	four → fourth
一二三，特殊记后面字母 t, d, d	one, two, three 特殊变型	first, second, third
八去t ，九去e 整数中的y要变成ie	eight去t，nine去e twenty去y变twentieth	eight → eighth nine → ninth twenty → twentieth
f来把ve替	five和twelve的ve要变成f	five→ fifth twelve→ twelfth
若是遇到几十几只变个位就可以	两位数或两位以上数字只变个位	thirty-three→ thirty-third
序数词前要加the 我们一定要牢记	序数词前必须加the(下文提到的情况除外）	the first day

其实很简单对不对？当然，想记牢并写对序数词，最主要的还是要先把基数词弄清楚，比如 40(forty) 与 50(fifty) 的拼写，否则在学习序数词的过程中还是容易犯错的哦。

使用举例

221号房：Room 221

2路公共汽车：Bus No.2

第411页：Page 411

第五中学：No.5 Middle School

第七课：Lesson 7

句法功能

序数词在句中可作主语、宾语、定语、表语、同位语与状语

▶ The first is better than the second.

第一个比第二个要好。（作主语）

▶ She chose the second.

她选择了第二个。（作宾语）

▶ The second term begins in January.

第二学期从一月份开始。（作定语）

▶ I am the third in our class.

我是我们班的第三名。（作表语）

▶ John, the first, is here.

约翰第一个到了这里。（作同位语）

▶ I finished the work first.

我最先完成那项工作。（作状语）

不用加定冠词 the 的情况

从一开始接触序数词我们就得知：在英语中，使用序数词时前面要加定冠词 the。但是在以下情况中时，序数词前面是不需要加 the 的：

当序数词前有形容词性物主代词或名词所有格修饰时

▶ It is my first job in my life.

这是我人生中的第一份工作。

▶ Anne is Mr.Brown’s second child.

安妮是布朗先生的第二个孩子。

当作为分母表示分数时

▶ Only one-fifth of air consists of oxygen.

氧气只占空气的1/5。

▶ About two-thirds of the students attend the meeting.

大约2/3的学生都参加了会议。

* 分子不为1时，分母的序数词需要加复数s。

当表示“再一，又一”时 (可加不定冠词)

▶ Please give me a second chance.

请再给我一次机会。

▶ They have a second home in China.

他们在中国还有一个家。

当表示“年月日”时

▶ He was born on January 8th, 1942.

他出生于1942年1月8日。

当序数词在句中作状语时

▶ Who got there second?

谁第二个到那儿的？

当表示在考试或比赛中获得的名次时

▶ He came second in the competition.

他在竞赛中获得了第二名。
