大家对于非常common的people相信一点也不陌生，在雅思写作课程中老师会跟我们说……（咳咳）……people前不要加the～果真如此？
其实这是只针对于雅思考试的写作中而言，我们用到的people 往往就是普通意义上的复数“人们”，所以为了方便大家快速掌握它的用法，而在讲解中说到people前面固定不要加冠词。
Q：老师～我在有的地方见过“the people”的出现呀，是出错了吗？
不一定，“the people”指特定的某一群人，强调他们的共同身份（common identity）。
例如：
The declaration called on the people of the South to unite and be firm in their opposition to the North.
在这个例句中，the people特指了南部的人民 the people of the South，所以加了定冠词the。
Q：老师～我还见过“A people”呢，老师你是不是讲错啦？
“A people”也表示一个群体拥有common identity，其实它常表示“一个民族”。
例如：
We are a people of improbable hope.
我们是一个充满希望的民族。
But I am confident that we, as a people, have the strength and wisdom to carry out this strategy and overcome this crisis.
但是我坚信，我们，作为一个民族，将会用力量和智慧完成这一战略，度过这次危机。
Q：老师～在雅思写作中people可以替换为persons嘛？既然他们都是人们的意思～
当我们讲一个人的时候当然是A person啦，但是Persons不用在日常表达，而只用在legal documents中，所以对于这个问题的答案是不可以～
Q：老师～如果persons不行，那我就用human / humankind / human beings 好啦～
Nonono，这几个词也不可以随便替换～要分情况讨论。
例如：
Human - It marks the beginning of a new era in human history. 这标志着人类历史新纪元的开始。
通过这个例句我们可以看到Human这个词主要用法为形容词，Human happiness 人类的幸福；
Human beings - 强调人类是区别于动物或其他生命体的物种
Humankind - All people, considered as a group. 全人类
所以，People的替换要谨慎哦～
