最近因为疫情的影响，很多地区雅思和托福考试一直在取消。PTE考试，因为其出分快，备考时间相对较短，慢慢成为一些着急出分的同学的备选方案。和雅思相同，PTE考试也是分成听说读写四个模块。其中写作部分也和雅思一样分成两个模块，大作文写作方式与雅思比较接近，另外一篇写作题型与雅思有比较大的差距。

今天我们就来聊一聊PTE写作中第一种题型Summarize Written Text 简称SWT。写作内容是在规定的10分钟时间内用一句话总结一篇两三百字的文章，字数范围在5-75 词之间。
10分钟时间内把文章内容概括成简单的一句话并且有严格的字数限制，看似难度比较大，但是只要合理利用这10分钟时间就能相对精准的切中答题内容。我们可以把时间合理分配在4项内容上。
2.抓取关键信息（文章中心句或者段落中心句，剔除无效信息例如解释，举例等补充中心句的语句） （4分钟）
3.选择合适连接词，使用并列句，从句，插入语或者介词短语等把几个关键句串成一句完整的话（3分钟）
4. 检查（词汇拼写，语法问题，字数等） （2分钟）
以下面这篇考试文章为例
Mexico city, a miner in the state of Chiapas found a tiny tree frog that has been preserved in amber for 25 million years, a researcher said. If authenticated, the preserved frog would be the first of its kind found in Mexico, according to David Grimaldi, a biologist and curator at the American Museum of Natural History, who was not involved in the find.
The chunk of amber containing the frog, less than half an inch long, was uncovered by a miner in Mexicos southern Chiapas state in 2005 and was bought by a private collector, who loaned it to scientists for study. A few other preserved frogs have been found in chunks of amber, a stone formed by ancient tree sap mostly in the Dominican Republic. Like those, the frog found in Chiapas appears to be of the genus Craugastor, whose descendants still inhabit the region, said biologist Gerardo Carbot of the Chiapas Natural History and Ecology Institute. Carbot announced the discovery this week.
The scientist said the frog lived about 25 million years ago, based on the geological strata where the amber was found. Carbot would like to extract a sample from the frogs remains in hopes of finding DNA that could identify the particular species, but doubts the owner would let him drill into the stone.
采用泛读的方式快读浏览文章，找到首字母大写以及一些高频出现的名词比如amber，frog，Mexico。从中我们可以大概知道文章讲的内容是和在墨西哥发现的琥珀中的青蛙相关的信息。

这个步骤比较耗时，在选取内容时一定要快准狠。如果文章已经有分段我们可以尝试分段提取一句完整的内容，如果没有明确的分段，可以通过文章中的句号来作为划分依据。
这篇文章分了三段，通过选择中心内容剔除无效信息的原则，第一段可以简单概括为：

第二段很多内容和第一段相似例如发现青蛙的经历，这一块可以直接省略，其他可以概括为：
The frog found in Chiapas appears to be of the genus Craugastor, whose descendants still inhabit the region
Biologist Carbot would like to extract a sample from the frog's remains to find DNA that could identify the particular species but doubts the owner would let him drill into the stone.
使用并列句，从句，插入语或者介词短语等把几个关键句串成一句完整的话（3分钟）
这一步我们需要做的就是把刚刚整理的三句话通过合理的连接词或者句型处理变成完整的只有一个句号的句子就可以啦。
1.A miner found a tiny tree frog preserved in amber for 25 million years which would be the first of its kind found in Mexico.
2.The frog found in Chiapas appears to be of the genus Craugastor, whose descendants still inhabit the region

因为PTE考试整个过程都是机考形式所以最后剩下的两分钟一定要检查单词拼写，以及一些常见的名词单复数问题等。最最最重要的是不能超过题目给的75词的上限要求，PTE写作对于字数卡的很严格，多写少写都会扣分甚至不得分。
