中国与一些国家签订了驾照互认换领协议（agreement on mutual recognition and replacement of driver's licenses），可凭中国驾照及翻译件（Chinese driver's license and its translation）直接驾车，无需换证。长期居留(如一年以上)者，可直接面试换领对方国家驾驶证，如比利时、法国、阿联酋、塞尔维亚等。

✪ 比利时：中国与比利时交通部有双边公约（bilateral convention），互认两国驾照，中国驾照只要有法定翻译（legal translation），经法院认证盖章，就可以到住地的市政厅申请转换本地驾照。

Q：怎么办理“中国驾照翻译件”？

A：通常旅游公司和国际租车公司会提供翻译件模板，填好信息打印出来即可。

Usually tour companies and international car rental companies will provide translation templates, fill in the information and print out.

Q：怎么办理“中国驾照翻译公证件”？

A：携带驾照+身份证+户口本，以及它们的复印件，到所在城市的公证处，申请办理驾照英文公证件即可。

You can bring your driver's license,ID card, household registration booklet, as well as a copy of them, to the notary office in your city, and apply for a driver's license in English.

指中国驾照经过翻译公证后，在一定有效期，如三个月、半年或一年内可直接使用。

After being translated and notarized, the Chinese driver's license can be used directly within a certain period of validity of three months, six months or one year.

一年：英国、新西兰、瑞士、意大利、挪威、瑞典 

在英国、新西兰、瑞士、意大利、挪威、瑞典，中国驾照是被承认的，且在驾照有效期内可以使用一年，一般的租车公司（car rental company）在租车时需要出示“国内驾照+英文(本国)翻译驾照公证”（domestic driver's license and notarization of driver's license in English translation）的组合。

半年：加拿大、德国、荷兰

在加拿大、德国、荷兰，中国游客可持中国有效驾照在当地开车，有效期（term of validity）为6个月。

三个月：丹麦

在丹麦如果是短期逗留（持三个月内签证），驾照是能用三个月的，但是必须带有翻译注解。如果持居住许可（residence permit），不管是工作还是上学陪读，驾照都只有14天有效期，要在14天内更换成丹麦驾照。

在纽约州，中国公民可以持中国驾照在当地开车，但前提是未在当地居住超过90天。

In New York State, Chinese citizens can drive there with a Chinese driver's license, but only if they have not lived there for more than 90 days.

在马里兰州，持有外国驾照的人需要参加酒精测试、笔试和路考，这些项目通过后方可换取当地驾照。

In Maryland, foreign driver's license holders are required to take an alcohol test, written test, and road test, which can be exchanged for a local driver's license.

在加州，凡是18岁以上以度假为目的外国游客，都可以凭外国驾照在加州开车。但是，如果来加州工作或者长期居住，则需在十天内申请加州驾照。

In California, any foreign visitor over the age of 18 who is on vacation can drive in California with a foreign driver's license. However, if you are coming to California for work or long-term residence, you need to apply for a California driver's license within ten days.

因此想在美国自驾一定要了解好所在州的相关法规，以免在异国他乡出现不必要的麻烦。

有的国家不承认中国驾驶证，需要考取当地的驾驶证，才可以合法上路驾驶车辆，如日本、韩国、希腊。 

✪ 日本：中国人想要在日本取得驾照，有两种方法。一种是通过日本驾校学习考取驾照，另一种是用现持有的外国驾照切换成日本驾照，不用通过日本驾校学习，而是直接参加视力测试、笔试和路考，这对于已经学会开车的人来说显然要简单许多。
