Judging others is a natural instinct but we have to change. We are no longer in school or college, we are adults. We need to act like adults which mean No Judging. Not all judgments are bad and hurtful but most of them are. I know we all have the ability to stop judging. Here are some methods  we need.

Don't judge a book by its cover.

Lack of information: We judge people just by knowing some parts of the story or even by looking at them. It’s very important to know the full story before we start giving our views.

Do unto others as you would have them done unto you: ‘Do unto others as you would have them do unto you’ – is a command based on words of Jesus. Before judging someone, put yourself in his/her shoes. Ask yourself how you would feel if you were judged?

Benefit of the doubt: None of us want to be bad people and we don’t intend to do bad things. Therefore, before judging others give them the benefit of doubt. As to why they are behaving in a particular manner.

Remember how it feels: Remember how it feels to be judged. It doesn’t feel good to judge or to be judged so put an end to it right it.

You define yourself: When you judge someone, you indirectly define yourself. Focus more on your life. Try to be a better and kind person. When you focus on you, you automatically avoid judging others.

Challenge yourself to think differently. Be open to the possibility that there is something that you don’t fully understand. I’m pretty sure this is going to take a lot of time and it’s not going to be easy. But I believe we will get there eventually.
