写语文作文时，我们往往会注意语言的使用，力求语言生动形象、文字丰富多彩。英文写作也当如此。根据英语中考作文评分标准，阅卷老师会注重两个方面：
内容方面：内容要点、应用词汇和语法结构的数量及准确性；
其中“应用词汇的数量”表示评判高分作文的标准之一就是用词尽量多样化，避免重复使用同一单词或短语，尽量使用“较高级词汇”。当然，“较高级词汇”也不是指生僻词汇，而是我们平时学到、阅读中经常见到、但是大家写作中又不常用或不会用的词。
