在英国、美国，Little Golden Books（小金书）可以说是鼎鼎大名、家喻户晓的童书品牌，从1942年开始出版至今，近70年的悠久历史，小金书的无数经典作品，短小明快、图文并茂，给一代又一代的英美少年儿童带来了阅读的乐趣。我们一起来看看小金书自己的介绍：

 

When Little Golden Books were first published in 1942, high-quality books for children hadn’t been available at a price most people could afford. Little Golden Books changed that! Priced at just 25 cents and sold where people shopped every day, they caused an instant sensation and were soon purchased by the hundreds of thousands. Created by such talented writers as Margaret Wise Brown (author of Goodnight Moon) and Richard Scarry, Little Golden Books have helped millions of children develop a lifelong love of reading.

MRS. TICKLEFEATHER was a very thin old lady with a good sized feather in her hat, and on her feet she had tall black shoes with plenty of buttons.

She lived on the top floor of a high, high, terribly high building. She lived on the top floor of a terribly high building because the top floor is the best place for getting sunshine, and, Oh, what a good thing sunshine is for thin old ladies!

With Mrs. Ticklefeather lived a lovely big bird called a puffin and the puffin's name was Paul. Mrs. Ticklefeather and Paul were very fond of each other. There was just one other thing that Mrs. Ticklefeather was fond of. She was fond of sunflowers. "Oh, Paul," said Mrs. Ticklefeather every day, "how I wish I had a beautiful sunflower to put in this big vase."

One night, thin old Mrs. Ticklefeather and Paul went to bed, and just before they went to sleep Mrs. Ticklefeather said, "Paul, do you think I am ever going to be lucky enough to have a sunflower?" And Paul said, "Goodnight, dear Mrs. Ticklefeather, I wouldn't be surprised if you had one much sooner than you think."

The next morning when Mrs. Ticklefeather woke up there was no Paul standing on the bottom of the bed. Mrs. Ticklefeather called, "Paul, Paul, where are you?" But no Paul answered. Then Mrs. Ticklefeather began to cry and she said, "Paul, my dear Paul, come back to me." But no Paul came.

我们看到，从语言难度来说，这个故事其实国内小学中高年级不一定看得懂，没有初中水平是读不下来的。只有水平比较高的小学生，才能顺利读完。

 

有朋友问，这套书能不能给高中生看？

 

怎么不能呢，高中生也不见得就不能读童话故事呀！就是成年朋友，看看这些小故事，也是很不错的。

 

这个故事到此并没有结束，因为这本书总共28页，这里因为篇幅所限，只能放前11页。不过，即便只看这一小部分，我们也不难发现，这套书配图非常精美，故事也很生动、紧凑。作品的配图风格非常现代、灵动，肯定能吸引到小朋友的注意力，得到他们的喜爱。

唯独需要特别说明的是这套书的呈现格式。一般来说，电子书都是PDF文件居多，但这套书因为多是图画书、故事书，所以很多都选择了纯图片的方式，放在同一个文件夹下，是为一本书。好在现在大家一般都有完善的图片查看软件、app，这也不是问题。
