1.Could you please describe yourself in three words?

If using some words to describe myself, I think that would be strong-willed, good communication skills, result-oriented and fast learner.

2.Could you please walk me through your resume?

walk me through your resume (意思就跟自我介绍差不多)

Morning/afternoon, everyone, my name is XXX, and of course you can call me by my English nickname Terry. You know I am super happy to be here for this interview with P&G. I am now reading for my master’s degree of English interpreting at Beijing Foreign Studies University, and I will graduate this July.

Before this interview, I have seen the qualifications and requirements for this position and I think I am qualified for it. First, I think I have really good communication ability. During my undergraduate and postgraduate studies, I attended several provincial and national English speaking and debating contests, through which I developed good communication skills and critical thinking ability. Besides, I also have a good English ability and learning ability. During the past two years, I had several internships, and some were about English translation and interpreting, some were about English sales experiences, through which I strengthened my English speaking ability and teamwork spirit. And I think all these experiences will be an asset for this position.

To be honest, I don’t have much experience serving as an overseas operating staff, but I think I have the potentials for this position, and I think I will be a fit for this position if I can get some professional training from P&G.

Thanks for giving me this precious opportunity, and looking forward to being a member of you. That’s all for the introduction, thank you.

3. Tell me about your strenghs and weaknesses?

Thanks for your question, first I think I have really good communication skills. For example, during my undergraduate and postgraduate studies, I participated in many provincial and national English speaking and debating contests, through which I developed good communication skills. Besides, I think I am a fast learner, which will help me adjust to the current position soon.

My weaknesses are that I am just a fresh graduate, and I haven’t got much experience about the current position, but I think I have certain potential for this position.

That’s all, thank you.

4.Could you share with us your most dismal experience and how you do with it?

Well, thank you for your question. I think the most dismal experience that I had was an English debating contest, it was when I was sophomore in university and my first time to attend such a contest, but I didn’t pass the trial. After that, I felt really doubtful about myself, but soon I held a positive attitude towards it and regarded it as a valuable experience, and I tried to analyze and figure out what kind of weaknesses I had and asked for some suggestions from my foreign tutor and the judges. That’s all, thank you.

5.Tell me one thing that you feel the most proud of?

Well, thanks for that question. I think the thing that I feel the most proud of was that I became a postgraduate at the Beijing Foreign Studies University, which is an ideal university for language majors. You know my undergraduate university, to be frank, is not that famous, and it was not easy for a student from a commonplace school to be admitted to BFSU, so I tried my best to prepare for the national postgraduate entrance exam, and it was lucky that all my efforts paid off in the end. Thank you.

6.What skills do you think are most important for this position?

Well, I think for this position, two of the most important skill are that you must have a good command of English and know about the culture, customs, laws in the overseas market. Besides, you need to have good communication and team working skills. That’s all, thank you.

根据JD要求自己改改就行!

7.How do you evaluate success?

Well, thanks for that question. I think people have their own definitions of success. For me, I think being successful in job means that you need to get the job done properly and effectively. Sometimes even if the working expectations are lower, I will not consider myself successful unless I met all of my own personal requirements. Of course, I’m always trying to push my personal requirements higher and higher. I welcome opportunities to keep improving myself in workplace. That’s all, thank you.

建议:尽量与工作职场有关

8.What role do you usually play in a team?

Well, to be honest, this is my first formal job application, so I have never really belonged to the team in the workplace, and I would say I prefer to be a follower, listener and facilitator. For now, I really need someone to lead me, to tell me what I should do, or at least to set general directions and rules within the team. And maybe after working for several years, I will learn a lot from the excellent leaders in Hisense, which may help me be a leader as well. That’s all, thank you.

9.Are your previous work experiences relevant to this position?

Well, speaking honestly, it is not very relevant. Because the internships that I had were relevant to English, English translation or English Sales, but I think these kind of job experiences strengthened my English communication ability, which is quite a fit for this position. Besides, I’ve heard great things about your company and the training program you have in place. I believe that I have the intelligence and abilities to learn how to do the job well, and will become a valuable member of your team, though I lack relevant experience. But perhaps sometimes motivation and drive can beat experience. That’s all, thank you.

10.What has been your biggest challenge?

Well, thanks for that question. I think the biggest challenge for me is that I am not confident enough and feel shy to talk before the public. But luckily things are different now, because I have become much more confident and brave to give a speech before the public. You know when I was in university, I attended some English speaking and debating competitions, through which I improved my self-confidence and now I even can talk with others in English freely. That’s all, thank you.

11.Describe your leadership style?

Well, to be honest, I am not really good at leading others. Anyway, if I get a chance to be a leader, I would characterize my leadership style as highly democratic, I will empower employees to make their own decisions and express their opinions on something to make sure everyone can participate in the task. That’s all, thank you.

12.How do you motivate people?

Well, that should depend on what kind of people they are. For employees, in my humble opinion, the most important thing to motivate them is to connect their personal goals to that of the company, which could help them have a sense of belonging. Of course, most workers only mind their own business, so it would be a help if the company can offer the benefits and salary they deserve, but not talk big. That’s all, thank you.

13.What motivates you?

Well, thanks for that question. I think interest and the gratification of overcoming an obstacle are my greatest motivators. For example, I showed great passion for learning English when I was young, so when I get an English-related job, I always feel energetic. Besides, when I was in university, I attended some large English speaking contests before hundreds of audience, but finally I made it, and it gave me a sense of fulfillment. That’s all, thank you.

14.How do you deal with pressure?

Well, I think few people prefer to work in a high-pressure environment as it is stressful. Yet working under pressure is inevitable, so I’ve learned to cope with stress in a healthy, productive way. When I feel stressed-out, I usually try to find out what indeed makes me feel so, then I can find some solutions like swimming, taking a deep breath, doing sports or listening to some soft music. That’s all, thank you.

15.How do you manage your time?

Well, I think I am good a time manager. To improve the learning or working efficiency, I try to make a to-do list for what I have to do a day earlier. Besides, when I am trying to work or study, I tend to be aware of my goals and write down the most important tasks as I think this will help me to stay effective in work, and to not waste time doing things that aren’t really important at the moment. That’s all, thank you.

16.What things are most important to you in a job?

Well, I think there are three things that I care about the most. The first one is team spirit, I really want to work in a company where the staff has a strong team spirit. The second one is the free and tolerant corporate culture, I really don’t like working in a company with a strong hierarchical system where the staff has no freedom. The third one is whether I can learn something from this job. That’s all, thank you.

17.What challenges are you looking forward to in this position?

Well, I understand that challenges are part and parcel of the job requirement that I am aiming for. And you know I am actually looking for jobs that would challenge me on a professional basis, so that I can enhance my abilities and skills. Besides, I think the current position overseas operation is really challenging, as it is not only about language but other important skills, and I think I can learn a lot of new things from it. That’s all, thank you.

18.Are you willing to travel or relocate as part of your career?

Sorry, I cannot tell whether I am willing to travel or relocate for now, but one thing is that I am quite interested in growing my career at this company and being a part of this great cause. I am open to considering relocation, but at least I need to know how long will it be or where I go. That’s ll, thank you.

19.What do you see yourself doing five years from now?

Well, thanks for that question. I’m eager to continue developing my international trade skills as a member of this unit, and I think I have great passion for trade-related things, so I may work in this kind field for long nad become a professional foreign trader or specialist in the next five years. That’s all, thank you.

20.In what kind of work environment are you more comfortable?

Well, I can be flexible when it comes to my work environment, because I have worked in different types of environments and enjoyed learning new things from each. I would say that while I don’t prefer a particular environment, I really like working with people who are committed to getting things done and who are passionate about their work. That’s all, thank you.

21.What have you learned from your mistakes?

In a previous internship as an English translator, I accidentally missed the deadline that I have to complete the translation task, which affected the the teamwork. What I took away from this was the importance of maintaining a schedule and making sure that I have finish some work long before the deadline, and try not to procrastinate. That’s all, thank you.

22.What else should I know about you?

Some things that a hiring manager or recruiter might be trying to discover about you by asking what else they should know about you include:

Particular qualifications or skills that for some reason weren’t covered under the other questions.

Noteworthy accomplishments that aren’t directly relevant to the job, but relate to your work ethic or another positive attribute.

Any aspirations or hopes you have career-wise, or other positions or responsibilities you might be interested in pursuing at the same company. Any points of connection the two of you might have — any hobbies or interests that you might not ordinarily have brought up, but that give you and your interviewer some common ground. Your confidence and ability to continue the conversation into a great last impression.

23.Tell me about a time when you had to cope with strict deadlines or time demands.

This is my first job application, so I do not really have much experience with meeting deadlines at work. But I remember a situation from school. I was working on a project with another classmate, for one of our courses. Two days before the presentation of our findings, they told me that they could not finish their part, due to some problems in their personal life. Instead of panicking, however, I simply decided to do their part of the presentation. I didn’t want to fail. It wasn’t easy, and I did barely sleep the two nights, but eventually I managed to deliver a decent presentation in front of the class and we both passed.

24.Tell me about a time you made a mistake" during an interview.

Arriving to the interview with no questions shows the hiring manager that you have done little to no research or don't care to learn about the position or company. Instead, prepare a few questions to ask during the course of your interview or at the end when asked.

25.Give me an example of a time when you had a particularly challenging situation with a peer/co-worker/customer.

At my current job, a client called late Friday afternoon with an urgent question about their project status. Usually my boss directly interacts with our clients, but he'd already left for the weekend. I told the client that while I might not know the exact answer, I could possibly help because I was also working on the project. The client was fine with that. We worked through the question together, and I was able to provide enough information that the client felt the rest could wait until Monday. I left a detailed note for my boss asking him to check in with the client on Monday.

26.Describe a time when you were under pressure to make an immediate decision.

Ordinarily I would prefer having enough time to weigh multiple options and think through a problem before deciding on a course of action. However- I also understand that may not always be possible. At a past job while working as a manager for a café- a fuse was blown and all the electrical systems went down. The issue had to be resolved quickly or else we would have had to shut down for the day. During that time- we really could not risk going without that revenue. Therefore I called a friend who lived nearby and worked as an electrician to come by and see if he could resolve the issue. He fixed it- and we continued operations that day. We paid my friend what we would have paid a regular electrician.

27.Tell me about a situation when you had to stand up for a decision you made even though it was unpopular.

"In my internship, I was asked to deliver a product using a development framework that was clearly inferior to the one that I had proposed using for the project. I worked with my boss to deliver the project on time and also wrote up a detailed process flow diagram using the development framework…"

28.Tell us about a time you had to comply with a policy or procedure that you did not agree with.

Because this is my first job application, it is impossible to narrate any similar situation from work. But I didn’t agree with certain procedures at school, such as segregation of students with special needs in separate classes. In my opinion we should try to integrate the students into regular classes, regardless of the degree of their disability. Once they leave the school there won’t be any segregation in the job market, any special conditions for them… But I also acknowledge that I am still young, and may not understand all the pluses and minuses of inclusion or segregation at school. School administrators should know better, and hence they decided for segregation. I didn’t agree, but I complied.

29.Describe a time when you had to bend the rules in order to be successful or accomplish a goal.

1) Tell me about a time when you had to bend or break the rules to achieve the right results. What happened?

2) Describe a difficult problem you’ve encountered and how you dealt with it.

3) Give an example of a tough goal you reached and how you achieved it.

4) Explain a time when you had a conflict with a fellow worker or a supervisor. What did you do and why?

5) Tell me about a time when you failed at a task. What happened and what did you learn from it?

6) Provide an example of when you used your verbal communication skills to influence your boss or other leaders to “do it your way?” How did things turn out?

7) Give an example of a situation in which you had to acquire a new skill or use a new technology to accomplish a task?

30.Tell me about a time when you took the initiative to set goals and objectives even though you were not prompted or directed by others to do so.

Last year- when I was working in the development department- I found myself in a situation in which action needed to be taken- and I was the only person available to do it. While I am very skilled at following directions and don't find myself in the position of the primary initiator very often- I got into a scenario that involved me alone witnessing the dishonesty and theft of another employee. It's not like me to get involved in the dramas of my co-workers or take things to our human resources department- but in this situation- what was happening was very clear- and there was nobody else who was going to take the initiative. I ended up beginning a case with human resources- exposing the theft situation which had been going on for some time and solving the mystery of the disappearing products. Looking back on it- going to human resources was one of the hardest decisions I have made in my professional life because I don't generally like to get involved with other people's business- but it was the right thing to do.

31.Tell me about a time when you were proud of your ability to be objective even though you were emotional about a problem situation.

32.Describe a work situation where you set a positive example for others.

33.Could you please introduce your best friend to us?

①My friend’s name is Meshal and he is twenty three years old. He is one of the most interesting people I have ever met. He has travelled greatly and has been to very many places. This perhaps explains why he is a very outgoing person. Some of the places that Meshal has been to include Canada and Saudi Arabia mainly to study but also to Cancun and Hong Kong just to tour in order to see the world. Currently, he is a student majoring in Manufacturing Systems Engineering.

Aside from that, Meshal has quite some interesting hobbies. He does not only like travelling but also likes playing football and volleyball. He also has a soft spot for camping as well as reading. Perhaps the most interesting bit about him is that he likes cooking and has quite a number of his own self designed recipes. He is very good at making friends thus likes going out to make them and party too. Besides all these, Meshal likes spending his free time at the beach. This indeed makes him a very interesting person to be with.

Meshal is one person who leads an exemplary as well as admirable life in society. He is a hard worker whose achievements can be explained by the fact that he got honored by the prince of his city twice, in the years 2004 and 2006 for being a hard working student in school. Meshal is a go getter who produces the best out of everything that he puts his hands to do.

Meshal also has big dreams for the future. He would like to trade in cars. His dream is that of owning his own show room. Just like any other person Meshal has his share of flaws. To begin with he is not a very patient for he hates to wait. Meshal also does not like hot weather, but regardless of all these; he is a great person to be with.

34.Tell me a friendly partnership that you've ever had?

Okay I’d like to talk about my teamwork experience in high school.

It was when I organized the Sports Day in my school as I was in thecommittee in the student union, taking charge of all the big events in my school. Basically, I needed to build my teamand organize the Sports Day which is a tradition. I worked with other two committees and eightstudents reps from different classes.

We had loads to do for the event, so, as a leader I first allocated the job to every person and set some deadlines for the team. It was such a big event so various of jobs were required, for example, to recruit 20 to 30 volunteers and train them; and to direct and rehearse the performances on the opening show; also, to invite all the guests who were parents or teachers from other schools. The whole team worked really well and everyone did their job very properly. So it went well in the end.

Therefore, it was a very memorable experience for the reason that it was not easy for a big group to work well. I was really thankful to the whole team and I learned how important communication is in a team. To make the whole team run smoothly, a lot of communication is required and everyone needs to know their roles very well. So yeah this was the time when I had a teamwork with others which luckily turned out quite well.

35.What are your hobbies and interests?

After a long day at work my favorite thing to do is tend to my garden. I find it very relaxing and rewarding while also being intellectually engaging. I love learning the proper balance of nutrients that my plants need to grow. Although gardening is really different from my goal of being a doctor, I enjoy being able to nurture both plants and people."

36.Do you see yourself self-motivated

Yes, I am very self-motivated. In school, particularly in my journalism courses, I always put extra effort into projects, simply due to my passion for journalism. For example, one course required us to write an article on a particular topic. I went above and beyond, conducting multiple interviews and going to the local archives to research the topic. I ultimately got this article published in a magazine. I believe this self-motivation and passion for journalism will make me a strong assistant editor for your newspaper.

下面是5个自我介绍中经典问题:

1、“work experience”is the type of work you‘ve done in the past.

If you haven’t started working yet you can say “Right now I‘m still a student.” or “I’m a recent grad and I haven‘t started working yet.” In the second sentence, “recent grad" is short for ”recent graduate" and means that you have just finished school.

请告诉我你过去的工作经验,工作经验就是你过去所做的工作。如果尚未开始工作,就可以回答“Right now I‘m still a student.”(现在我还是个学生。)或者说“I’m a recent grad and I haven‘t started working yet.”(我刚刚毕业,还没有开始工作。)“recent grad”是“recent graduate”的缩写,意思是刚刚毕业。

2、Second One:What‘s your greatest weakness?

This is a popular question that western employers like to ask to make candidates nervous! In fact, they ask this to know how you respond to a difficult question. You shouldn‘t answer by telling your greatest weakness since you might not get the job! Instead, you can tell them something that isn’t directly related to the job position.

3、Third One:Why do you feel you are qualified for this job?

This question is a good opportunity to brag a little bit. You should talk about some extra skills you have that maybe wasn‘t included in your resume,or talk about your greatest strength in more detail.

你为什么觉得自己胜任这份工作?这时候你要充分发挥你的“自夸”本领。你可以讲述一些简历资料里面没有包括的技能;或者是再详细强调一下你的特长。

4、Fourth One:What kind of salary did you have in mind?

Salary is how much money you earn, usually per year. When asked this,it‘s best to answer with a salary range or approximation and not an exact figure. This shows that you are familiar with the industry if you know what the approximate salary should be.

你期望的薪水是多少?“salary”就是你赚多少钱,通常是年收入。回答这个问题时,最好说出一个大致范围,而不是一个确切的数字。如果你能说出这个工资范围,那就说明你对此行业非常了解。

5、Fifth One:If hired,when could you start work?

When answering this it‘s best not to say you can start right away. This might make you seem very desperate for a job. A safe answer would be "I can start at the beginning of next month."

如果雇佣的话,你什么时候开始工作?回答这个问题时。一定要注意!不要说我马上可以工作。那会让对方认为你非常迫切地需要这份工作。一个非常保险的回答可以是“I can start at the beginning of next month.”(我下月初可以开始上班。)

好了,以上就是今天小编为大家整理的英语面试常用回答,将今天这些表达学起来,相信对未来找工作一定会有相当的帮助!在这边小编也祝福大家都能找到最适合自己的好工作!
