Join the team responsible for the localization and release of all Apple products. We are a hard working group dedicated to bringing Apple’s products to the world. We are looking for highly motivated individuals with the right mix of technical and interpersonal skills to provide technical software and documentation translations in Simplified Chinese. This position is based in our Beijing office. The environment is fast paced, requiring the ability to manage aggressive delivery schedules. Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail and proven ability to manage priorities are essential.

 

Key Qualifications

 

• Degree in Applied Linguistics, Translation and/or equivalent experience
• Native proficiency in Simplified Chinese
• Proficient English is essential
• Experience with computer aided translation tools and systems
• Experience in doing large volumes of technical translations for end-user software products
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills are essential
• Knowledgeable in, and sensitive to, multilingual and multicultural issues
• Translation Experience

 

Description

-Hands-on translation of Apple products into particular languages 

-Utilizing internal tools to identify changes with localization impact 

-Setting up language specific translation environments 

-Bug monitoring, escalation, reporting and resolution -Perform linguistic QA 

-Assist with quick-turnaround translations 

-Identifying tools and process improvements 

-Working with cross functional groups to ensure the process runs efficiently and on schedule 

-Driving collaborative terminology discussions and propose and implement recommendations 

-Maintaining style guides 

-Maintaining language glossaries

 

Education & Experience

 

Degree in Applied Linguistics, Translation and/or equivalent experience

 

Additional Requirements

Direct experience translating and/or localizing Apple products

Advanced computer aided translation skills

Experience in natural language (NL) translation

Experience in managing language specific style guides

Experience in managing language glossaries

Experience in machine translation

Localization Project Management experience
