Job Title: Editorial Project Manager
Department: Editorial – Springer Healthcare China
Report to: Senior Editorial Project Manager, China (SEPM)
POSITION SUMMARY:
- Edits and approves original Chinese and translated content
- Manages editorial projects for clients of Springer Healthcare (SH) China
- Coordinates and supervises external collaborators and suppliers, including translation agencies
- Supports internal SH teams to provide solutions to client requests
Main Responsibilities:
- Edits and approves content of editorial projects according to client needs, maintaining internal quality standards and agreed specifications, budgets and timeframes:
- Monitors quality, style, scientific validity and relevance of both original Chinese and translated content, especially journal articles
- Provides timely, consistent and constructive feedback to SEPM, SH China Sales Manager and clients
- Regularly liaises with SEPM and SH China Sales Manager to agree timelines and specifications, and check that client expectations are being met
- Coordinates and supervises external collaborators for SH China, including quality control
- Adheres to Springer Healthcare operating procedures, quality assurance and compliance standards
- Provides a main point of contact on matters of scientific content for SH China sales team
- Supports the planning of editorial projects for clients, to the highest standards of editorial quality and delivery:
- Provides scientific expertise to support the SH China team in developing new opportunities in the market
- Supports the preparation and translation (in conjunction with Senior Editorial Project Manager) of editorial content for proposals and pitches to clients
Other Responsibilities:
- Maintains strong awareness of developments in relevant therapeutic areas and Springer Healthcare products and services
- Assists in the planning and implementation of events such as project launches, medical conferences, expert meetings, professional training programs, etc.
- In conjunction with Senior Editorial Project Manager, provide updated medical/scientific information for the development of quality publishing projects
Qualifications:
- Required Background: (minimum level of knowledge/skill [education/experience] needed to perform job):
- Scientifically or medically qualified
- Editorial Project Management experience preferred
- Experience working with or within the pharmaceutical industry preferred
- Required Skills AND Attributes:
- Fluent Chinese (Mandarin) and English, written and verbal
- Collaborator, with a full understanding of the importance of team work
- Detail orientated
- Good service attitude with respect to colleagues and clients
- Flexible and adaptable, with ability to respond to different situations as they arise
